Terms of Use
1. The agreements that apply
Your use of Doris is governed by two documents:
- Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA): the standard terms under which Doris is licensed to you through the App Store. Read Apple’s standard EULA.
- The Doris Legal Agreement: shown in the app before first use, and accepted there.
Your privacy is governed separately by the Doris Privacy Policy.
2. What Doris is
Doris is a private memoir that gathers moments from your day, only from sources you explicitly allow, and turns them into daily chapters that belong to you. Chapter creation normally uses large language models, while a grounded deterministic fallback can preserve a usable record when AI is unavailable. Generated or assembled output may contain errors or misreadings. Every chapter is yours to correct, rewrite, or delete, and you should treat Doris’s output as a draft of your day rather than a record of fact.
3. Your content is yours
Your moments and chapters belong to you. Doris does not sell your data, does not use your life to train public AI models, and does not publish anything. There is no public feed. You can export your full journal and data as JSON at any time (Profile → Export), and you can permanently delete your data and account from Profile or from the subscription gate when Profile is unavailable (“Delete my data & account”).
4. Doris Premium subscription
- Doris is free to download. Access after sign-in requires Doris Premium, an auto-renewing monthly subscription.
- Eligible new subscribers receive a 1-week free trial. After the trial, Doris Premium renews at $4.99 per month unless cancelled. The App Store shows localized pricing and eligibility before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when the trial ends, or at confirmation of purchase when no trial applies.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial or current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
- Apple processes purchases and refund requests. Eligibility, billing, cancellation, and refunds are also subject to Apple's terms and applicable law.
5. Eligibility
Doris is for users who are at least 18 and the age of majority in their jurisdiction, and who are able to enter into a binding agreement. This matches the Doris Legal Agreement you accept in the app before first use.
