How it works
From the apps you already use, to a story you keep for life.
Doris turns the moments you allow into a written memoir. Automatic capture and your own writing are both optional. Here is how it works.
Connect your sources
Choose sources one by one: photos, camera, calendar and reminders, Health and motion, location, Apple Music metadata, or files and text you explicitly add. You can also share an individual item from Mail or Messages; Doris never connects to those inboxes in the background. Change any permission or source whenever you like.
Doris captures what matters
With the permissions you grant, Doris can organize authorized photos, significant places, schedule, movement, and music metadata into factual moments. Manual writing is optional. Doris does not infer your feelings, motives, relationships, or what an event meant to you.
Your days become chapters
A narrative engine weaves grounded moments into chapters along your personal timeline. A morning walk can become a scene; music can add setting; authorized Health data can support movement or arousal context. None of those signals decides your mood. Your own check-ins and reflections remain authoritative.
Review, edit, and keep it for life
Your memoir is yours to shape. Read each chapter, refine the wording, add your own reflections, and export everything whenever you want. Doris keeps building quietly over time, creating a private, lasting archive of your life that you can revisit and pass down.
What Doris pays attention to
Every source tells a different part of your day.
Doris reads them together.
Photos
Preserve scenes, capture times, and places you allow.
Location
Adds place context without recording a continuous route.
Music
Adds factual soundtrack texture, never a mood verdict.
Calendar
Adds authorized schedule titles and times as context.
Shared items
Adds only the text or image you explicitly share.
Health
Adds authorized daily movement and wellness aggregates.
Wearables
Contribute authorized aggregates through Apple Health.
Notes
Keep the words you wrote yourself.
On their own these are data points. Woven together, they become the scenes of a life.
Private by design
Everything happens on your terms.
Connections are encrypted, your memoir is yours alone, and nothing is ever sold or used to train public AI. You can review what Doris can access, disconnect any source, edit any chapter, and export or delete your story whenever you choose.
Privacy is not a setting you switch on. It is how Doris is built.
